As part of this process, ACM is switching to a single-column manuscript for the HTML version and a double-column format for the PDF version for the camera-ready version format. The purpose of the updated process is to increase the accessibility of articles published in the ACM Digital Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important suggestion: the camera-ready version of your paper must be submitted to TAPS in the single-column format. However, you will obtain two types of proofs: HTML ones in the single-column format and PDF ones in the double-column format.&nbsp; Please, try to generate a camera-ready version of your paper that is formatted properly in both the double-column and the single-column format.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following instructions will help you in formatting the camera-ready version of your paper. Please, read all of them carefully before submitting it. Additionally, we recommend that authors should agree to videotaping in the eRights form as talks will be streamed and made available on demand after the conference. Further, the authors are required to include a proper classification for the paper according to the ACM Classification System (CCS). You must use the &#8220;manuscript&#8221; option with the<em> \\documentclass[manuscript]{acmart}<\/em> command to generate the output in a single-column format which is required for a camera-ready submission. Please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/consolidated-tex-template\/acmart.pdf\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/binaries\/content\/assets\/publications\/consolidated-tex-template\/acmart.pdf\">LaTeX documentation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/latex-best-practices\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/latex-best-practices\">ACM&#8217;s LaTeX best practices<\/a> guide for further instructions.To ensure 100% compatibility with The ACM Publishing System (TAPS), please restrict the use of packages to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/whitelist-of-latex-packages\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/whitelist-of-latex-packages\">whitelist of approved LaTeX packages<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After completion<\/strong> of the ACM eRights form, you will receive another email from <a href=\"mailto:rightsreview@acm.org\">rightsreview@acm.org<\/a> which contains the commands that need to be inserted into your final LaTeX file in order to generate the proper rights statement and Bibstrip data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please do not enter the page numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Page-Limits\">Page Limits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following page limits refer to the single-column format for submission to TAPS.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Main Conference Papers: upper limit is 14 pages (excluding references)&nbsp;<\/li><li>Doctoral Symposium: 6 pages plus 2 extra pages for references<\/li><li>Demo Papers: 5 pages plus 1 extra page for references<\/li><li>Theory, Opinion, and Reflection Papers: 4 pages plus 1 extra page for references<\/li><li>Tutorial Summaries: 4 pages plus 1 extra page for references<\/li><li>Workshop Summaries: 4 pages plus 2 extra pages for references<\/li><li>Workshop Short Papers: upper limit is 7 pages (excluding references)&nbsp;<\/li><li>Workshop Long Papers: between 8 and 14 pages (excluding references)&nbsp;<\/li><li>Late-breaking results: 7 pages plus 2 extra pages for references<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Paper-Metadata\">Paper Metadata<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Double-check that your title and abstract fields in the TAPS submission page match the text in your paper.<\/li><li>Be sure that the title is in Initial Caps. Initial Caps Meaning First Letter of the Main Words Should be Made Capital Letters. Capitalize the First Letter of Main Words in the Title (Most Nouns), except a, an, the, conjunctions (and, but, or, for, \u2026), and prepositions (of, to, in, on, \u2026)<\/li><li>Double-check the author&#8217;s name, affiliation, and email in the paper.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Accessibility-Guidelines\">Accessibility Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While working on your final document, please keep the following in mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Published papers must follow the accessibility guidelines presented by ACM on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/word-template-workflow#accessibility\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/word-template-workflow#accessibility\">ACM Templates page<\/a>.<\/li><li>All images and figures should have text descriptions (\u201calt text\u201d)<ol><li>ACM provides general guidance on creating and adding figure descriptions on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/describing-figures\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.acm.org\/publications\/taps\/describing-figures\/\">Describing Figures for ACM Publications page<\/a><\/li><li>You may also reference the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sigaccess.org\/welcome-to-sigaccess\/resources\/describing-figures\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.sigaccess.org\/welcome-to-sigaccess\/resources\/describing-figures\/\">SIGACCESS Guide on Describing Figures<\/a> for additional suggestions regarding figure descriptions.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>HTML proofs should support most accessibility features, but TAPS does not yet fully support automatic integration of accessibility features into your PDF proof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you receive your proofs for approval, you may update the PDF document with accessibility features and return it by attaching it in a reply to the original email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions or are in need of assistance regarding the accessibility guidelines, you may email the Inclusion &amp; Accessibility Chairs at <a href=\"mailto:20umap2022-jedi@um.org\">umap2022-jedi@um.org<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Camera-Ready-Submission\">Camera-Ready Submission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You should submit a single ZIP file containing <strong>ALL your source files<\/strong> (e.g., *.tex, *.bib, *.sty, and all figures for Latex Users or the .docx file for Word users). In order to upload these files into TAPS, follow the instructions presented in the following tutorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Final Submission and TAPS Author Workflow\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dSYINtsB0bY?start=41&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The contact author will receive the <em>&#8216;Notification to upload your paper to the ACM TAPS&#8217; <\/em>email from TAPS (<strong>after the ACM Rights review eform has been completed<\/strong>), in which the system will ask you to submit your source files and provide a unique link through which you can access TAPS (your specific author dashboard). In the top of your author dashboard TAPS provides the information about &#8220;Proceeding Acronym&#8221;, &#8220;Paper ID&#8221; and &#8220;Title of Paper&#8221;. You can upload a zip file in TAPS for further processing and the ZIP file naming should be like ProceedingAcronym\u2013PaperId.zip. It is important to follow strictly all the instructions of file structure and naming of the zip file that should be uploaded on TAPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The publishing system automatically produces the traditional PDF output as well as ACM&#8217;s new responsive HTML5 design. Within 24 hours after submitting the .zip file, the contact author will receive the <em>&#8216;PDF and HTML Proofs: available for review&#8217;<\/em> email notifying that the proofs for the published versions of your paper (both PDF and HTML5 versions) are available for your review and approval. Note that TAPS will generate the output PDF using the double-column format, which follows the &#8220;sigconf&#8221; proceedings template. TAPS receives the information from ACM&#8217;s system regarding which composition layout needs to be followed for the papers in your proceedings (i.e., &#8220;sigconf&#8221; in this case) and applies the required style internally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are satisfied with the proofs for the published versions, please notify us of your approval within The ACM Publishing System (TAPS).
