Industry Panel
June 17 - 5.50pm - Room 121 - First Floor
GenAI for user modelling:
from theory to practice
The panel brings together practitioners from different industry verticals and company sizes, from growing startups to public companies with tens of millions of users. Leveraging everyone’s experience and perspective, we will assess how large language models are transforming personalization and user modelling: how much of the old world is relevant? What exciting new developments were previously thought to be impossible? The panel (the first-ever industry panel at UMAP) will also give us a chance to reflect on the interplay between academic research and production systems, and what each can learn from the other.
