July 5 – Egholm Festival on Tour: Aalborg

Egholm Festival On Tour is a 4 days tour in Northern Jutland, in which Egholm Festival performs different places. 12 concerts, 1 caravan with a bunch of energetic people ready to take on the region and to create a good atmosphere, with draught beer on the tap of course. In other words it is going to be great tour. On Saturday they will arrive in Aalborg and perform in Karolinelund, the city park. Come join. There are going to be loads of goodies for the true roadies.

July 7 – Concert with Orkester Norden

(Classic Music)

The orchestra, Orkester Norden, is a symphony orchestra consisting of great talents from the north and the Baltic countries. At this concert the orchestra is in its strongest position with a great program playing music from the north. In the second part the Nordic music culture will be put into stark contrast to Shostakovich awe-inspiring 10th symphony.

July 7 – 13 – Medieval days in Aalborg

Experience the great atmosphere of the Middle age when Kildeparken in Aalborg will frame one of the greatest mediaeval events in Denmark. Food as it was made in mediaeval times, artists and entertainers from all over Europe, fire performances and knight tournaments are just some of the things you can experience at this great event.

July 9 – Market Day

Early in the morning stands are taking their place in the square at Aagade, as they have done for the last five decades. The market traders are from Aalborg and the community. It is a haven for anybody who cares about the quality and provenance of the food they eat. Summer and winter - here you can buy fish, cheese, fruits and vegetables, flowers, organic goods and homemade jam.

July 9 – Mädchenchor Wernigerode

(Choir Music)

One of Germany’s leading girl’s choirs of about 50 members finishes their tour in Denmark with the concert in Budolfi Church. Come and experience the beautiful church and wonderful choir music from the last five centuries.

July 10 – Guided tour at Aalborg Monastery

(Guided tour)

In Aalborg Monastery, also known as the Monastery of the Holy Ghost, the tourist guides of Aalborg will give you a guided tour and tell you about the interesting history of the monastery. Among other things, you will visit the monastery’s chapter house, which has fine frescos from the period of 1512 to 1520.
The monastery is hidden in the center of Aalborg and holds many great stories from the times where monks and nuns were living there. The monastery also functioned as a grammar school, or later during World War II, where it provided shelter for the Churchill Club resistance cell. Tickets are sold by the guide.

Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 pm  (July 8-August 21)

July 11 – Friday Party – Bryan Adams Tribute

Every Friday in the summer, Skraaen is hosting a concert at Karolinelund, Friday Party. On this Friday you can experience Bryan Adams Tribute. The band is incredibly close to the original - it is like “he is really there himself”. Last time Bryan Adams Tribute performed at Skraaen they were sold out. Come and experience the rock classics Summer of 69, Everything I do and many others for only 50 DKkr.

July 5-13 - Enjoy!

At this exhibition you can experience pieces of internationally famous artists, such as Andy Warhol and Christo. To put it briefly: Enjoy! The pieces are focusing on the artistic breakthrough around the 1960s with pieces of the fluxus artists, group zero and the pop art artists. At the exhibition you can experience different media, such as photography, graphics, paintings and objects.

CityCircle bus – free bus to get around in Aalborg

With the free CityCircle bus, you can get a good impression of Aalborg and its numerous attractions. You can jump on and off the bus at all weekdays between 10 am and 5:30 pm and at Saturdays and Sundays between 10 am and 1:30 pm with departure from Aalborg Bus terminal every half hour. Take the free City Circle bus to Aalborg Zoo or to experience the city center and all its attractions. You can find the timetable for the bus online at www.nordjyllandstrafikselskab.dk  or in one of the tourist information offices in Nordkraft or at Gabels torv in the city center.
